Routine cleaning of light fixtures will reduce the risk of fire. As with all maintenance, review the fixture's manual before cleaning for specific instructions.
In most cases the following routine done regularly (at least every six months) will do:
Remove light fixture - careful not to jiggle bulb.
Glass light fixtures may be handwashed in warm soapy water in a deep sink.
Dry fixture thoroughly.
Take a clean dry cloth and wipe lightbulb.
Take this opportunity to inspect wiring for any lose or frayed wires that need attention.
Before replacing light fixture, ensure lightbulb works and that the fixture is completely dry.

We should be careful while removing the light fixture. For these we need to clean all the parts of it very carefully. Use air duct cleaning service that are very popular these days.
ReplyDeleteShane, in my opinion, it makes no sense to spend money on an air duct cleaning service to clean your light fixtures.
