Christmas Decor

Christmas is a wonderful time to change the look of your house. To begin, survey the room you will be decorating. Note the style, the color, and the lighting. Particularly note the color of your walls, floor and furnishing. These will help you determine the look for your Christmas decor.
Most people begin with the Christmas tree, but I suggest you begin like you would with any time you decorate a room, keeping in mind the Christmas tree will be your focal point.

Wall Decor - You may wish to decorate a mirror or enhance a picture that already has a wintry scene. Use poinsettia sprays or garland.
Signature Accessories - These can be items you might set on your mantel, your stockings, or other themed accessories that you place on your tables. This may also include any item you might place on your floor - including your Christmas tree.
Ambience - What would Christmas be without Christmas lights? Use strings of lights, candles, or themed lamps to bring the warm feeling of Christmas cheer. Don't forget the scent of pine, Christmas baking, or other aromas that suit the season. Then play some nice Christmas music in the background.
Florals and Greenery - Of course this includes your Christmas tree, but why not add a wreath at your door or drape a cranberry swag over a picture? Perhaps add a potted poinsettia or some cedar bows along a tabletop.
When you are done, grab a cup of hot apple cider or hot chocolate, sit down in your favorite chair, and enjoy your creation.
